    British stats reveal record insolvencies

    A record number of people went into insolvency last year in the UK.

    Official figures show a total of 134,142 people went into an Individual Voluntary Arrangement or
    Bankruptcy last year.

    Some were issued with a Debt Relief Order.

    The last record for insolvencies was set in 2006, when 107,288 personal insolvencies were registered.
