With eight million shoppers buying counterfeit goods, Britain has been exposed as a nation of fakers.

At least one third of online consumers intentionally go in for knocked off goods such as designer bags and watches.

As per a research from online payments firm, Moneybookers, young women are the worst offenders, snapping up clothes, shoes, perfumes and jewellery.

"With no fines currently enforced on internet shoppers, the counterfeit business is booming," the Daily Star quoted Moneybookers boss Martin Ott as saying.

"This is now a major industry that costs legitimate businesses money," he added further on informing about the business prospects of the pirate goods industry. (ANI)
