'Monster of chillies' could set a new world record

    (ANI)

The 'monster of chillies' is expected to set a new world record, its British producers have said.

The Infinity chilli is so hot it is the equivalent of drinking acid and has the same potency as 50 Scotch Bonnets, according to developer Fire Foods, in Grantham, Lincolnshire, reports the Scotsman.

The 'Infinity chilli' had earlier beaten Assam's 'Bhut Jolokia chilli', which is used by the Indian Army to make hand grenades to immobilise terrorist suspects.

On the Scoville Scale, 'Infinity chilli' was rated at 1,067,286, while the 'Bhut Jolokia chilli' is measured at 1,041,427, reports the Sun. (ANI)
